Thank you all for making the inaugural Hell of the South training race a success! We appreciate everyone making the trip to Berlin, racing with heart, and sticking around for the awards. Also, thank you all racers who brought books and shoes for Soles4Souls and Ride for Reading. Joe and Mathew from each respective charity, very glad you made it out. Berlin Volunteer Fire Department, Berlin Store, and Berlin Methodist Church, thank you for your hospitality, amazing food, and perfect race day facilities. Already looking forward to next year with you.
We cannot thank you–our volunteers–enough for allowing us the opportunity to have a well-run, safe, and most of all fun race. From registration runners, corner marshals, and photographers to those who stayed after to pick up the trash left over, race drivers, and race site screamers–everyone in between–please know you’re very much appreciated. You all were beyond great and prepared. This thank you is extended to the SVMIC Cycling team members that stepped up to organize this race that came together better than ever anticipated.
Thank you Whompyjay and Bashful Mountain Broadcasters for a great bluegrass show. Please keep us posted on your next appearance, Encore! And master of the microphone Adam D., you are the best DJ and race announcer in the southeast. You made road racers crack a smile, and that’s very difficult to do.
Sponsors, it goes without saying-Swiftwick, SVMIC, MOAB, Reactice, Hammer, Louis Garneau, DZ Nuts, Belle Meade Smoothie King, Revolution Wheel Works, Road ID, Homegrown Bicycles, and Andy Norris Designs for awesome graphics on the sold-out t-shirts and posters, thank you many times over. Acme multi-sports, thank you for the great prizes for our drawings on the fly!
Stay tuned for race photos and results. They will be posted on the website soon.
We hope you had fun and are marking Hell of the South 2011 on your calendars for next year. Best of luck to all this upcoming race season. If the weather holds-see you at the Nashville Cyclist Spring Training Crit tomorrow!
